Stingray Group announced on May 13, 2025 that community television stations CITL-TV and CKSA-TV would be closing effective immediately. The stations served the community of Lloydminster, a city on the border between Alberta and Saskatchewan, incorporated by both provinces. CITL has been a CTV affiliate since it began broadcasting in 1976.

CHAT-TV

CHAT-TV went off the air on June 3, 2025. Pattison Media said shrinking support for local TV, economic challenges and ongoing losses were the reasons for the closure, which resulted in the layoff of 16 employees. The station was launched by Monarch Broadcasting in 1957 and was sold to Jim Pattison Broadcast Group (later renamed Pattison Media) in 2000. The station provided local news programming for Medicine Hat and surrounding communities in Alberta.

Mary Campbell

Mary Campbell, the owner and editor of the Cape Breton Spectator, announced on September 13, 2023, that she would be suspending the news website while she dealt with some health problems. She passed away on April 24th. The independent, online, weekly newspaper dedicated to Cape Breton Island in general and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality in particular, officially launched on August 3, 2016.

Armchairmayor.com, a blog run by a former mayor and reporter, added local news coverage when the Kamloops Daily News closed in early 2014. On August 2, 2015 the site transformed into NewsKamloops.com. On Oct. 3, 2016 newKamloops announced it would cease publication.
