Previously, on March 4, 2019, the daily newspaper reduced service and started publishing their print edition only three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), citing a weakened local economy.

The newspaper launched in 1913.

The new subscription-based community newspaper in Happy Valley-Goose Bay published its first issue on April 24, 2019.
