The restructuring also involved closing foreign news bureaus, cutting 1300 positions, and "moving to a single newsroom approach across brands." Funny 1290 launched on February 12, 2021. The radio station replaced TSN 1290, which was closed by Bell Media on February 9.

CityNews Ottawa 1310 AM (CIWW-AM) went off the air at 1 p.m. ET on October 26, 2023. The news station was simulcasting on 101.1 FM (CJET-FM) and that broadcast ended at the same time. Two of the station’s digital news reporters will continue to provide local news content on the CityNews Ottawa website. Rogers Sports & Media cited low audiences, revenue decline, and the CRTC’s restrictive regulatory policies as factors that contributed to their decision.
