Bell Media announced corporate restructuring plans on June 14, 2023, that resulted in six radio station closings and another three radio stations being sold. The six closed stations included: Funny 1290 (CFRW-AM), Funny 1060 (CKMX-AM), TSN 1260 (CFRN-AM), BNN Bloomberg 1410 (CFTE-AM), Funny 1040 (CKST-AM), and NewsTalk 1290 (CJBK-AM). The restructuring also involved closing foreign news bureaus, cutting 1300 positions, and "moving to a single newsroom approach across brands.” BNN Bloomberg Radio 1410 launched in 2018 after TSN 1410 was closed.

Two of the station’s digital news reporters will continue to provide local news content on the CityNews Ottawa website. Rogers Sports & Media cited low audiences, revenue decline, and the CRTC’s restrictive regulatory policies as factors that contributed to their decision.

Evanov Communications announced on August 15, 2023, that it would be integrating the station with its sister station Z103.5 (CIDC-FM), with both on-air hosts moving to Z103.5. The station launched in Toronto in 2007 as the first commercial radio station targeting the LGBTQ+ audience.
